The president of Velatia stressed the importance of innovation processes and methodology during the round table Process innovation, key to sustainable competitiveness<\/em>, organised by Euskalit<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Javier Ormazabal, president of Velatia, participated last Wednesday in the round table Process innovation, key to sustainable competitiveness<\/em> organised by Euskalit<\/a> on the occasion of the European Week of Advanced Management, which served to reflect on the importance of the methodology and innovation in processes when managing an organisation. During the meeting, the president of Velatia stressed the importance of these innovative processes in companies, “complex systems that require a level of visualisation made up, in turn, of many subsystems”, as he defined them, since, in a company like Velatia, with 55 years of history<\/a>, “a good methodology helps you to break down the barrier of conservatism that your past success generates”.<\/p>\n

“If we did not have a solid process culture, which guarantees small incremental improvements on an ongoing basis, it would be very difficult to move the organisation forward”, argued Javier Ormazabal, who pointed out that this motto is key “in times of enormous transformation like the present, where our customers and society are evolving with the impact of the digital world and the demands in terms of sustainability, governance and the environment”. A paradigm that generates “an environment of great opportunities and threats that require continuous monitoring”.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, and with regard to the type of organisational model, the president of Velatia pointed out that for the company “beyond strategy, what is important is the company culture”, which is why “our managers must focus on long-term objectives, centred on generating value, and short-term objectives, more centred on achieving the results of management, sales and profitability plans”. Something that, in the case of Velatia, fits in with its character as a family business and its “vocation to leave a legacy”. Not surprisingly, Javier Ormazabal pointed out that such motto “requires a process that evaluates our stakeholders and decisions, allowing us to translate this generation of value into a series of objectives that can be met by the managers”.<\/p>\n

Finally, the president of Velatia mentioned the importance of talent in all these processes, stressing that “sometimes we place a lot of emphasis on aptitude, which is measurable, but we overlook the importance of attitude, which is an essential part of innovation”.<\/p>\n

The round table Process innovation, key to sustainable competitiveness<\/em> was also attended by Jone Nolte (Asle), Marian Ibarrondo (Basque Government Department of Health) and Aitor Uriondo (Axular Lizeoa).<\/p>\n
