The past 24th of March was a special day for industrial companies in Bizkaia, as the “Industry Day” was commemorated; an event organised by the Federaci\u00f3n Vizca\u00edna de Empresas del Metal (FVEM)<\/a> in which Velatia participated as a sponsor and which allowed us to hear the testimony of our colleague Maider Bilbao (Ormazabal Commercial Engineering), during the gala held before hundreds of students from different high schools and training institutes in the region at the Bilbao Exhibiton Centre in Barakaldo.<\/p>\n

Maider, who shared the stage with other young professionals from the industrial sector, highlighted the “many opportunities” that industry offers for the development of talent<\/a>, as well as “being a participant and protagonist of this change in society”. In addition, Maider wanted to contribute her vision with regard to the incorporation of women in the industrial and technological world, for which she encouraged to “leave aside all the stereotypes that have been instilled in us”.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, our colleague pointed out “the daily challenge” of working in a sector such as the energy sector – in the midst of a revolution – and the “great opportunity to continue growing professionally and personally” that this entails.<\/p>\n

In addition, as part of the “Industry Day” celebrations, students from the Zornotza Vocational Training Centre (Bizkaia) visited our Ormazabal Distribuci\u00f3n Secundaria facilities in Igorre. An initiative that has helped the students to learn about the workings of an industrial company and the different development opportunities that this means for their future.<\/p>\n
